About Amanda

Amanda Harmon has a Bachelors in Social Work from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University in New York, NY.

Amanda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#006955) in the state of Connecticut, as well as a Certified School Social Worker in Connecticut, and has her SIFI certification, allowing her to supervise students in a Masters level Social Work Program and professionals working toward licensure. Amanda is also an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University

Amanda has given many presentation in the Fairfield County area including "How to Heal from Trauma," "Self Injury and Cutting," and "Suicide Prevention & Awareness."

Amanda has served President of the Fairfield County Chapter Board of Directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org). Amanda has also participated in "For a Conversation: About Gun Violence Prevention Legislation," as a member of the panel. Amanda also assisted in the crisis intervention in Sandy Hook, CT with Newtown Youth and Family Services.

Amanda has appeared on Good Morning America, News Channel 12, It's Relevant, and in the Stamford Advocate and Greenwich Citizen.
